Earn To Die is a zombie drivingsurvival game published by Toffee Games. The main idea is simple: drive a weak vehicle through a desert full of zombies, broken roads, and steep terrain, and try to reach as far as possible before the car stops completely. At the beginning, everything feels underpowered on purpose.
The vehicle runs out of fuel quickly, struggles on small hills, and slows down the moment zombies gather in front. Most early runs end fast, but every attempt still contributes to long-term progress.
How to Play
Your goal is to travel as far as possible in each run while earning money for upgrades. Zombies block the road, but the bigger issue is usually losing momentum or running out of fuel. Even failed runs are useful because they unlock improvements that make future attempts stronger.
Controls
You control the vehicle using simple keyboard inputs. W or the Up Arrow keeps the car moving forward, while S or Down Arrow lets you reverse when needed. A and D (or left/right arrows) are used to tilt the vehicle, which helps balance during jumps and rough landings.
Early Progress Feels Limited
At first, the car feels fragile and slow. Fuel is not enough, engines lack power, and even simple terrain becomes a challenge. This creates short runs, but also makes each small improvement feel noticeable.
Upgrades That Change the Run
Fuel upgrades extend how far each attempt can go. Engine upgrades help maintain speed on hills and through zombie groups. Wheel upgrades improve stability so the vehicle doesn’t lose control after rough landings.
These small changes gradually turn weak vehicles into powerful machines.
Momentum Is the Real Challenge
Zombies are present everywhere, but most runs end because the vehicle loses movement.
Once speed drops too much, recovery becomes difficult because enemies and terrain start blocking progress. A single mistake on a hill or jump can end the run faster than any zombie encounter.
Earn To Die becomes more satisfying over time as upgrades slowly remove early weaknesses and allow the vehicle to push deeper into the wasteland with each run.
